    This Privacy Policy explains how TrueNorth Roadside Rescue ("TrueNorth", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, discloses and safeguards personal information when you use truenorthroadside.ca, our linked online service-request experience, communicate with dispatch, or receive towing and roadside services from us.

    We handle personal information in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy laws, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where it applies.

    Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

    • Contact details such as your name, telephone number and email address.
    • Service-request details, including pickup location, destination, vehicle make/model, vehicle condition, requested service, notes, photos or other information you choose to provide.
    • Location information that is necessary to dispatch a driver and deliver roadside or towing service.
    • Transaction and billing records. If you pay electronically, payment information may be handled by a payment processor, and we may receive transaction status, receipts or related records.
    • Communications with dispatch, support or drivers, including service-related messages and records needed to document authorization or resolve a complaint.
    • Technical information such as browser type, device information, IP address and website activity when permitted by your cookie preferences.

    3. How we use information

    We use personal information for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances, including to:

    • provide quotes, dispatch towing or roadside assistance, communicate ETAs and complete requested services;
    • verify service authorization, vehicle details and destination instructions;
    • process transactions, issue receipts and maintain business records;
    • respond to questions, complaints, disputes, insurance inquiries or legal requests;
    • protect customers, drivers, vehicles, our systems and the public from fraud, misuse or safety risks;
    • maintain and improve our website and services; and
    • measure website usage through analytics only after you opt in to optional analytics cookies.

    5. When we share information

    We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information only as reasonably necessary to:

    • assigned tow operators, drivers or service personnel who need the information to complete your request;
    • technology, hosting, communications, payment, analytics or other service providers acting on our behalf;
    • insurers, repair/storage facilities or other parties when you direct or authorize us to communicate with them;
    • law enforcement, regulators, courts or other authorities where required or permitted by law; or
    • protect legal rights, safety, property or the integrity of our services.

    Service providers are expected to handle information only for the purposes for which it was provided and to apply appropriate safeguards.

    6. Cookies and analytics

    Our website uses necessary browser storage to remember your privacy choice. Google Analytics is optional and is loaded only after you opt in through our cookie banner.
