Post-Accident Vehicle Recovery and Transport
After a collision, your vehicle needs careful handling. Our operators recover and transport damaged vehicles with the expertise to prevent additional harm during loading and transit.
When You Need Accident Recovery
Accident Recovery is the right call in the situations below. If you are not sure, call dispatch and describe what the vehicle is doing — we will tell you which service fits.
- Your vehicle is not driveable after a collision
- Fluids are leaking or a wheel or suspension component is damaged
- Police have cleared the scene and the vehicle must be removed
- Your insurer has directed the vehicle to a specific collision centre
- The vehicle left the roadway and needs winching before transport
What Is Included With Accident Recovery

After an accident, your vehicle may have structural damage that makes loading challenging. Our operators are trained to assess damage and use the right techniques to load your vehicle without causing additional harm. We coordinate with police, insurance providers and collision centres as needed.
Vehicles with wheel or suspension damage, non-rolling vehicles and vehicles requiring a recovery assessment can be transported using flatbed equipment. Additional loading requirements may apply.
- Damage assessment before any loading begins
- Controlled winching for vehicles that cannot roll or steer
- Flatbed transport with all wheels off the ground
- Delivery to the collision centre, storage yard or address you choose
- Debris pickup around the vehicle where it is safe to do so

How Accident Recovery Works in Toronto and the GTA
Make the scene safe
Call 911 if anyone is injured, then move clear of traffic and turn on hazard lights.
Request recovery
Send your location and vehicle condition. Dispatch confirms a CAD quote and ETA before assigning a truck.
On-scene assessment
The operator inspects damage, wheels and suspension to choose a loading method that avoids further harm.
Load and deliver
The vehicle is winched onto a flatbed, secured, and delivered to the collision centre or yard you name.
Call Dispatch or Request Through the App
There are two ways to get accident recovery from TrueNorth Roadside Rescue. You can call dispatch directly at (647) 633-8885 and speak with a real person, 24 hours a day. Or you can request service through the TrueNorth web and mobile app for a faster, fully digital request flow.
In the app, you enter your exact service type, pickup location, vehicle details, destination when required, and contact information. The app calculates your estimate from preset service pricing, distance in kilometres, included distance, add-ons, and applicable tax — before anything is dispatched.
Once a driver is assigned, the app shows live service tracking with driver status, ETA, service progress, and completion status. It is a clearer and more transparent experience than a normal phone-only towing request — and you can still call dispatch anytime if you prefer speaking with a person.
Faster Request Flow
Submit the service type, location, vehicle details, and contact information without waiting on the phone.
Live Driver Tracking
Once a driver accepts the job, follow the driver and service status in real time.
Transparent App Estimate
Pricing is calculated from preset service rates, distance, add-ons, and tax before dispatch.
Better Service Updates
See when your request is submitted, accepted, on the way, arrived, completed, or closed.
Call Anytime
You can still call dispatch directly for urgent support, questions, or special situations.
Accident Recovery Pricing and Quotes
Accident recovery is quoted in CAD before dispatch based on location, vehicle condition and destination. Winching or extended recovery work is quoted separately and confirmed before it begins.
For a full breakdown of how towing and roadside jobs are quoted, see our towing and roadside assistance pricing page.
Staying Safe While You Wait
- Call 911 first for any injury, fire risk or fuel leak
- Do not stand between vehicles or in a live traffic lane
- Leave the vehicle where it is if moving it creates further risk
- Photograph the scene before the vehicle is loaded, if it is safe
If Extra Help Is Needed
If the vehicle is off the road, on soft ground or wedged, our operators bring winching equipment and quote the recovery portion separately before starting. Heavy or complex recoveries beyond medium-duty capacity are referred out rather than attempted.
